EDITOR—On Sunday, FDC spokesperson Wafula Oguttu alleged that the Prime Minister echoed his master’s voice when he said the President would not give jobs to people from areas that do not vote for him. The correct position is that jobs in the public service are awarded on merit.

With regard to the political appointments of the Vice- President, Prime Minister and ministers of state, the President pays more attention to areas which voted for him than those which opposed him.
