I have had a couple of stalkers – some too damn freaky but I take measures which I won’t share with you.

Tell me about just one example
There was this guy who used to call and text me constantly - from dawn to dusk. I do not even know where he got my number. I always told him off but he refused to yield. So, I had to change my phone number.

Do you think it’s your fault – pretty girl being funny and putting yourself out there?
It is not my fault! I did not get into this industry to be stalked. And, aren’t many girls being stalked? We are in an obsessive society; people admire you for what you do and what you are.

But you are not married?
I am not but I am a happy single mother.

Why did you break up with him?
That is a very personal matter.

What do you tell your daughter about him?
I only tell her nice things. Just because things did not work out for her dad and me, I cannot corrupt her mind about him. They love each other and spend time together for which I have no objection whatsoever.

What is the hardest part of being a single mother?
I think it is the knowledge that you are everything to your child. You have to do everything for them single handedly. I don’t have many family members in Kampala but the friends I have help me out. It is a rough road but I count on God always and my ability as a mother to do my best. A well behaved child reflects a lot about the parent.
