Mao vows to contest in 20ll
GULU-District chairman Norbert Mao has said the rebel allegations against him will not stop him from contesting for the presidency in the 2011 polls. He said the allegations were meant to destroy his political image and to force him not to contest against the NRM party in 2011. Mao was speaking at the closing of the secondary schools athletics championships at the Pece War Memorial Stadium last Saturday.

‘Create more polling stations’
GULU-The 310 former FDC, UPC and DP supporters, who crossed over to the ruling NRM party in Lakwana, Purongo and Lalogi sub-counties, have requested the Electoral Commission (EC) to create more polling stations in the return villages. The former chairman of FDC at Wii-Anaka camp in Purongo sub-county, Jacob Ojara, said this would save people from trekking long distances in 2011 to cast their votes. He was speaking during a meeting with presidential adviser Richard Todwong at Lakwana sub-county.
