HERE is a tip: If you are going to defeat someone, it is best not to wind him/her up before hand. The player concerned, if he has the ability or sense, will make an extra effort to prove you wrong.

The former Brazil and Bayern Munich striker Paulo Sergio, said on Tuesday that Cranes stand no chance against the South American team that has not lost so far in their seven-game tour. The team jetted in yesterday.

Whether they were mind games, Cranes coach Bobby Williamson has decided to respond.

The Scot will abandon the conventional 4-4-2 formation for a 4-3-3 with an extra striker, in Tony Odur, to counter the visitors’ attacking artistry.

“We need to keep them busy. There is something different that Odur will add to the side. He can play as a central striker but can equally create problems through the right,” Williamson stated.

Odur will start, alongside Caesar Okhuti and Robert Ssentongo in a three-man attack. Bruno Olobo and Peter Ssenyonjo are the other strikers in camp.

Cranes’ ex-internationals are equally set for the game against their counterparts the following day.

The team under Jackson Mayanja, boasts of former stars Jimmy Kirunda, Mathias Kaweesa, Steven Bogere and Isaac Nkaada.

Proceeds from the tour will go towards building a home for children born and raised in prison.

Crown Beverages has boosted the charity tour with a sh50m package.
