THE Proline Academy take over of Nalubaale FC might have hit a dead end after the club’s failure to meet the national soccer federation requirements in time.

The federation halted the take over until former owner Karim Njubi first cleared players’ salary arrears before sealing the transaction with Proline.

Njubi was given a two-week ultimatum to do so but by the expiry of the ultimatum yesterday there were no further developments.

“We waited to no avail. We now have to meet and decide on the next step,” said FUFA competitions committee secretary Moses Magogo yesterday.

All indications are that western outfit Mbarara United FC will have to return to the super league after Njubi’s failure to act. Mbarara performed best among the relegated sides.

Meanwhile, the federation is expected to open up the club registration exercise on Wednesday, paving way for an early release of fixtures for the 2009/10 season. The league has tentatively been set to start September 19.
