- The United Against Malaria UAM campaign sets pace in Uganda today. Aimed at using football to kick malaria out of Africa, it will be launched at the Serena Hotel in Kampala this evening by Health Minister Stephen Malinga. UAM is a partnership between football stars, charities, corporations and individuals who have joined forces ahead of the 2010 football World Cup in South Africa

Wapenyi is seniors chair
- Kanyanya Wapenyi was recently elected new chairman of the Seniors Golfing Society. The retired diplomat will head the body that unites golfers above 55 years of age for a one year term. Mackenzie Ogweng is vice chairman and also in charge of competitions. Sam Nahamya is secretary while Lt. Gen. Elly Tumwiine is treasurer. The committee began its term of office with a seniors competition at the Kitante course.

Inter-regions to prove h/caps
- Uganda Golf Union has ruled that all players in the Inter-regions tournament must first produce a certificate signed by the club chairman showing the handicap as eligibility proof for each player. The fear was raised by captains from Western and Buganda against some names fronted by Eastern’s Johnson Omolo at the draw at Kitante yesterday.
