BOXING - Sports state minister Charles Bakkabulindi has lashed out at sports administrators who run to courts of law instead of arbitration. He advised that grievances should be handled through established regulations governing sport. “Sports is all about teamwork and performance. It’s about love and working together. So when someone opts for court action, then he has failed the cardinal rules (of sport),” said Bakkabulindi.

Local coaches get Brazil ideas

SOCCER - Coaches from Friends of Football and sports science students at Makerere University will benefit from a youth coaches’ training programme that starts today at Old Kampala Secondary School ground. The two-week workshop will be conducted by three Brazilian coaches.

Jinja delegate wants fairness

SOCCER - Jinja district FUFA delegate Faisal Mohammed wants FUFA to handle the referee selection process without fear or favour. Mohammed made the remarks while addressing Jinja district club officials during meeting at Kakindu Stadium on Saturday. “I do not know which criteria is used to eliminate Jinja based referees from officiating Super League matches,’’ an angry looking Faisal said.
