SOCCER - Super lady striker Shallot Binsiima scored yet another hat-trick to take her tally to 13 goals in her side’s 4-1 whipping of Bunyaruguru Tigers in the Bushenyi women football league on Saturday at Bushenyi playground. The soaring tally might earn her the top scorers accolade.

HOCKEY - Central region emerged champions of the one-day inaugural hockey tournament played over the weekend at Lugogo. James Serwadda single-handedly put Central region on course with two goals in the opening 13 minutes. Stanley Tamale and John Wasswa scored three goals each. Simon Sempiija sealed Central’s score line with two more goals in the dying minutes of the second half.

Kwizera to lead demos

SOCCER - Uganda football governing body FUFA presidential hopeful Godfrey Kwizera will spearhead a national demonstration to protest the federation’s electoral guidelines issued recently. Kwizera argues that the guidelines favour incumbent president Lawrence Mulindwa and his supporters. Kwizera addressed a press conference in Kampala yesterday when he announced the protests.
