AFRICA light middleweight champion Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya returned to Kampala with a technical knockout in a super welterweight contest against Tanzanian Idd Kigula at Little Flowers on Sunday.

Lusambya was making his first appearance in the ring in Uganda since 2007 and finished off his opponent in the second round of a 12-round title fight dubbed Game On.

It took him one minute and seven seconds to finish off the work with a stanza of combinations to the Tanzanian’s head, forcing referee Said Tebazalwa to halt the fight to stop further punishment.

Lusambya is now 21-1-1 (19 KOS) while Kigula fell to 9-14-5 (3 KOs).

“I wanted to return to Kampala with a win. This is for my fans and I am expecting better and bigger fights later in the year,” Lusambya said.

He added: “I want to battle (former IBF junior middleweight) Kassim Ouma soon.”

The fight was promoted by Lets Entertain and Jomayi Property Consultants.
