EDITOR—On Monday, Alice P. Kakooza wrote a letter entitled “NSSF, be sensitiveâ€. The letter relates to a clarification NSSF published to correct an erroneous story about the cost of the Pension Towers project. Kakooza argues that the clarification should have taken the form of a news story rather than an advertisement so as to save money.
We would like to state that we consider it of paramount importance to clearly and formally inform members about NSSF’s various investments. This is a deliberate policy by the Fund in the spirit of transparency and accountability.
Apart from this deliberate policy, there has been a lot of misreporting about the development of the Pension Towers project, especially relating to costs of construction and nature of the project. It is important that the public gets the facts about such a large and important project.
