CENTENARY Bank is to launch a young saver account project next month, Percy Lubega, the marketing manager, has said. He said the accounts were intended to promote a saving culture among children aged between 0 to 18 years.

“I urge children and their parents to utilise this chance to have your own bank accounts to help you save for school fees and other things,” he said.

Lubega was addressing school children, who turned up to for the teachers’ day celebrations, at Rukungiri main stadium.

“We have not yet established what will be the name of account, but one of the rules is that you will have to withdraw once in three months,” he added.

Olivia Tushabomwe, a student at Rukungiri High School, expressed happiness with the bank’s initiative, saying it will help them save.

“My parents give me sh50,000 as pocket money in a term, I would save about sh20,000 if I had my own bank account,” Tushabomwe said.
