MUKONO-A 54-year-old man who defiled a four-year-old girl has been sentenced to 15 years in Luzira Prison. Charles Baziraki, a resident of Kauku village, was given the sentence by the High Court judge Irene Mulyagonja Kakooza, on Friday. Court heard that the victim's mother Sabina Acheng left Baziraki with her on the veranda and entered the house for a few minutes. When she returned, both Baziraki and the girl were missing. She later found Baziraki defiling her in the bathrooms behind the house.
I will weaken opposition-RDC
KAYUNGA-The resident district commissioner, Margaret Baryehuki, has vowed to weaken the opposition in the district by wooing all their supporters to join NRM. Baryehuki made the remarks while receiving the JEEMA chairperson, Sheikh Abudalah Ssebisubi, who defected to the NRM party at a function held in her office on Friday. Ssebisubi explained that the opposition lacked support of the majority to take over power, saying this forced him to join NRM which he described as strong enough to remain in power for next 30 years.

KAMPALA-Moral deterioration among the youth is due to weak social support systems and lack of orientation on cultural norms and values, the Nnabagereka, Sylvia Nagginda has said. The Nnabagereka, while launching the Ekisaakate 2010, at Hotel Africana on Friday, said the programme aims at nurturing young girls and boys into holistic and versatile individuals who can appreciate both cultural and modern values. The Ekisaakate, a cultural camp where Buganda values are taught, will be hosted by Katikamu SDA Secondary School in Wolulemzi, Luwero district and is expected to bring together youth from different ethinic background.
