EDITOR—During the late Bryan Bukenya’s funeral service at Rubaga cathedral, Prime Minister Nsibambi talked about how graduates shun the army.

I am a Makerere University graduate pursuing a masters degree who used to admire the army right from childhood.

However, with Government institutions getting more ‘infected’ with corruption and nepotism, the idea is no no longer so attractive.

As the saying goes today, ‘who knows you’? Besides, joining the army can be very easy because one joins at one’s free will but getting out is another matter altogether. So how will one wriggle out of the trap? I thank God for Bryan Bukenya’s life and courage
