CAMEROON’s Celestin Nkouelene stormed the boys’ final at the ITF East Africa U-18 junior circuit held at Lugogo.
The decisive match is due today.
The unseeded Nkouelene yesterday continued his fairytale run at the tournament when he stopped the second seed Egyptian Mohammed Auf 6-4 5-7 7-6(6) in a dramatic semi-final game on centre court.
The towering West African took the first set 6-4 easily, but lost the next 7-5 in a very heated game which had the Egyptian complaining several times over line calls. The Egyptian is the fourth seeded player to lose to Nkouelene.
ITF development officer Prince Madema from Zimbabwe intervened to cool tempers.
Madagascar’s Niriantsa Rasolomalala and Zarah Razafimahatratra will meet in the girls’ final.
