TAE KWONDO - Luzira Tae-kwondo Club at the weekend emerged national champions in Lira. Luzira finished top after collecting four gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Red Scorpions of Lira came second with three gold medals, two silver and a bronze. Five clubs took part in the annual competition at Shower Trade Lira Hotel. Lira club finished third with two gold, two silver and a bronze medal. Maroon from Kampala were fourth.

Cameroon star promises youth

SOCCER - Junior players in the Kampala School of Excellence could get a lifetime chance to continue their careers in France after former Cameroon World Cup star Emmanuel Maboang promised to link them to division clubs and academies in Paris. Maboang is a player agent in Europe and travelled to Uganda last week with former Cameroon World Cup stars. They lost an exhibition tie 2-0 to a Ugandan select side.

Mbale Tigers to host Kenyans

TABLE-TENNIS - Mbale Tigers Table Tennis Club is to conduct a three week training camp for 20 Kenyan players from January 4.The training will be done by Yana Karlson from Sweden. Meanwhile, 10-year-old Moses Farao beat Peter Mugisa,27, as Mbale beat BOU 4-1 to win a friendly at Malukhu in Mbale over the weekend.
