THE second term of Lawrence Mulindwa’s presidency at the soccer governing body FUFA starts tomorrow, with his executive’s first task being to rewrite the constitution.

James Bakama
reports that after education and sports minister Namirembe Bitamazire inaugurates the new team, FUFA will assign a commitee to review the constitution.

“We have received FIFA guidance on this matter that we shall follow,” said former FUFA publicist Rogers Mulindwa.

Bitamazire will preside over the ceremony tentatively set for 10am at FUFA’s headquarters in Mengo.

Mulindwa was returned FUFA president unopposed. He will at the function allocate the referees, protocol, media, marketing and sponsorship and appeals standing committee portfolios.

Today’s weekly FUFA press conference has been called off due to tomorrow’s ceremony where outgoing FUFA delegates will also be awarded certificates.

“The certificates are for the good work rendered in the last four year term,” stated Rogers Mulindwa.

Meanwhile FUFA’S top brass could enjoy Christmas with some court relief.
High court judge Vincent Zehurikize, who is presiding over two of the three cases the soccer body is engaged in, recently announced he would be busy with criminal sessions for six weeks.

Zehurikize’s rulings on notice can therefore earliest be in late January.
