The Parliamentary committee on Commissions and Statutory Authorities has summoned Shem Bageine the managing director of Begeine and Company to explain how he won the controversial tender to manage Amber House, a government entity.

The Parliamentary committee on Commissions and Statutory Authorities has summoned Shem Bageine the managing director of Begeine and Company to explain how he won the controversial tender to manage Amber House, a government entity.

Committee chairperson John Odit said: “Amber House Limited is a public registered company which government appointed to manage Amber House. How come Bageine collects rent and earns a commission yet Amber House limited is managing the company?”

Civil Aviation Authority chief Ambrose Akandonda and Uganda Revenue Authority’s Allen Kagina will also face the committee on queries raised by the Auditor general’s report for the 2000 to 2007.
