THE Rotary Club of Masaka has donated medical equipment worth sh51m to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital. The Club President, Dr Christopher Jjunju, handed over the items to the acting Medical Superintendent, Dr Joseph Lule, at the hospital on Tuesday.

The equipment will be used in the ear, nose, throat and eye operations unit. Dr Lule said the hospital would now be able to handle ear, nose and throat complications without referring them to Mulago Hospital.

Dr Jjunju said District 9200 of Rotary would donate 100 wheel-chairs to the hospital. The administrator, David Nuwamanya, said the hospital was underfunded.
