THE year 2008 seems to be the year for ‘new kids’ on the local music scene. One such person is Emmanuel Mubiru a.k.a Omuyaye Ganja. The Super FM comedian-cum presenter is the voice behind the hit Njagala Mbalabe, a call to the youth to work hard for whatever they want.

Mubiru already has a loyal following of fans owing to his comic skits on Super FM. Even with “real” songs to his name now, people still “force” him to perform their favourite skits.

Mubiru started his comic journey in 2004 at Super FM, following the death of the station’s resident comedian, Mbalire Kateteyi.

Mubiru credits his ability to dramatise day-to-day events to his formative years in Kajjansi township. “I always wanted to draw attention to myself.

Mubiru is also part of Lord Fred Sebatta’s Matendo Promoted Singers, under the youth arm of the band called Matendo Ragga Goup.
