THE post-election violence in Kenya led to fuel crisis in all its neighbours, with Uganda most hard hit. Two weeks later, the fuel prices have stabilised but West Nile Rural Electrification Company, (WENRECo) the main supplier of power in the two districts of Arua and Nebbi to this day still supplies power for only five hours. This is instead of the usual 18 hours a day we were used to.

Apart from that, power blackouts are very common especially between 7and 11pm. The new loadshedding timetable without proper explanation is a gross inconvenience to WENRECo’s customers. What is happening? We are fast losing the confidence we invested in the company! Something should be done about the matter.
