Kiyonga, that is diversionary politics!

EDITOR—I was dismayed by Dr Crispus Kiyonga’s statement about the release of the URA staff list according to regions and ethinicities.

The minister thinks MPs are “zealously emphasising how many people of such and such a tribe are in a ministry or department instead of emphasising efficiency or effectiveness.”

Kiyonga opined that the crisis in Kenya clearly shows what such sentiments can do to social order.

Now, i find it a glaring contradiction when one understands and dreads the effects yet shamelessly buries one’s head in the sand when the cause is examined. The eye of the storm in the Kenyan crisis lies in some ethnic groups ‘eating’ more than others.

The disputed election results just availed the ultimate platform for the disgruntled to vent their anger.

And now Kiyonga wants the citizens to focus on ‘effectiveness and efficiency’. That is diversionary politics.
