Namboole hosts sports workshop
GENERAL - The Ministry of Education and Sports will hold a half-day National Physical Education and Sports stakeholders workshop today at Namboole. The workshop is aimed at identifying and streamlining roles of each of the stakeholders in promoting physical education and sports. It will be opened by sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi. The theme is: “Unfolding the National Physical Education and Sports Policy.”

Officials travel

Three table tennis officials are set to escort player Jackson Migadde to the World Table Tennis championships due in Guangzhou, China in a fortnight's time. Uganda Table Tennis Association chairman Emmanuel Matsyetsye, treasurer Jonah Waisadha and Treasurer Joel Wandiga will be travelling to Guangzhou as Uganda's officials to the one-week event that is set for February 24- March 2. Uganda will be among the 107 countries that will take part in the world event, which is part of the qualifiers to the Beijing Olympics.

Total kids shine

SOCCER - Total and Diamond Trust registered wins the in the Kampala Kids League Totos at Acorns School on Tuesday. Alexi Twahili, continued his form by scoring five goals for Total while Liam Modena added a hat trick and Ayaan Jasani wrapped the goal scoring jamboree with the ninth. MTN Blue’s consolation was scored by Om Prashat. Hope Aling and Elijah Mugisha scored a goal each for MTN Yello. The game third round of this league resumes again on Tuesday.
