LEADERS and human rights activists must not only teach people about their rights and freedoms but also let them know their responsibilities, according to Bishop Michael Kyomya.
â€œImagine a vehicle hooting but people remain in the middle of the road under the pretext of exercising their right to use the road. That is indiscipline.â€
The Busoga Diocese prelate, who was speaking at St. Stephenâ€™s Church Mafubira in Jinja district on Sunday, noted that irresponsibility leads to a high crime rate.
Jinja Woman MP Ruth Tuma challenged the Church to initiate programmes geared at fighting moral decay in society.
â€œThis morning (Sunday) I received a complaint about a man who impregnated his neighbourâ€™s 14-year-old daughter. This is the countryâ€™s future being spoilt and a case of moral decadence,â€ she said.
