FOR Vincent Tusiime, the sh1m prize in the second week of the Vision Voice promotion did not come on a silver platter.

Tusiime, 31, on Thursday walked from Garden City on Yusuf Lule Road to the Nsambya traffic lights junction, a distance of about two kilometres following the clues given out during the shows on Vision Voice radio.

He was the first caller yesterday when Pauline Amuge, who presents the Early Edition show, asked listeners to name the mystery location.

“It is a miracle. Maybe God is responding to the prayer I made at the beginning of the year. I prayed to get money to complete my two-room house in Kawempe,” Tusiime said yesterday at The New Vision offices in Industrial Area.

Receiving the money from Amuge and Vision Voice executive producer Angela Kintu, Tusiime said: “The company should continue organising such promotions so that people can win money to boost their income.”

Tusiime works in his uncle’s company, Resko Property Consultants and Surveyors.

He loves the Sportlight, a sports show that runs every Saturday from 2:00-4:00pm and the V-drive, an informative and entertaining show broadcast between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

His prize brings the outstanding amount to sh6m.
The promotion dubbed “Vision Eye” is meant to reward listeners and also test their knowledge of Kampala.

Every hour, a presenter gives out a clue to the mystery location in Kampala which listeners are supposed to identify.

Programmes producer and promotions coordinator Kevin Masaba said they increased the number of clues to 21 so that people could win easily.

“We give out a hint so that people easily identify the location. The game is progressing smoothly. More and more people are participating and believe that the game is genuine,” he said.
