Arthur Baguma brings you the faces that will be behind the microphones.

Rose Namayanja Nsereko,
Woman MP Nakaseke
Namayanja is as versatile as she is prolific. At the tender age of 33, she has tested all the political waters of this country. The former Uganda Young Democrats activist has positioned herself among the authoritative political thinkers in this country. She brings with her a rich grasp of issues affecting the ordinary person and the country’s political dispensation in general. As the chairperson of the defence committee in parliament, she is well-informed on national issues in the corridors of power.
Her knowledge of national issues dates back to her student days at the university where she was identified and wooed into the National Resistance Movement. Listeners will have a lot to learn and draw from her experience in community development and entrepreneurship. She is a renowned entrepreneur in her constituency. The professional social scientist is a member of NRM and the woman MP for Nakaseke.
She graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Between 2000-2006, she served as the Youth MP for central region. Earlier, she served as a political officer at State House soon after graduating. She had a stint as a registrar at Light Bureau of Accountancy, Sseguku. She is the founder and principal of Target Community College, Wobulenzi.

In her words
“The show will be informative and educative. It will give balanced information since the panelists are from different political divides.”

Frank Tumwebaze,
MP Kibale
He has an upper hand on the affairs of the world. He is a good orator and depicts scientific curiosity in his works. This has distinguished him from mere political commentators.
With the increasing political involvement, he has become a prominent fluent debator and prolific writer on political issues. He belongs to a young generation of orators which sprang up during the NRM era. The youthful Member of Parliament for Kibale County, Kamwenge district, is a research consultant by profession. He holds a masters degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies. His first degree is a Bachelor of Science in Education. He worked as a customs officer Uganda Revenue Authority between 2001-2002. In 2002, he served as deputy resident district commissioner Iganga. Later he served as presidential assistant in charge of research and information. He is an advocate for farmers’ rights and is the president of the Uganda Farmers Federation. His character and career dwell on improving the life of the ordinary person.
With the increasing political life, he has naturally come into prominence as an objective politician.

MP Lira Municipality
Although he is a member of the opposition, Akena is a cool-headed legislator. He brings with him mature debating skills. No one should expect him to debate like a disgruntled opposition politician. He is informed and articulate, precise and dwells on issues as opposed to personal attacks.
Pessimists doubted that this very apolitical son of a former president would have much to offer when he returned from exile following the death of his father, former President Milton Obote. But since he grabbed the Lira municipality seat, the young legislator has reflected qualities that made his father a seasoned politician. Akena has quickly adjusted to the political life in Uganda. And is playing a pivotal role in the politics of Lango region. When he speaks, policy makers listen so his role on the talk-show will be vital.
Born in 1967, he worked with Agromed Kenya Limited and was the country manager for the same company in Zambia between 1992 and 1994.

In his words
“It will be informative, interactive and should have a positive impact.”

MP Budadiri
He is known for his depth of interest and knowledge of politics. His attributes of honesty and an open mind, have been a defining feature and have informed his character as well as his political life.
His determination to reinvigorate the founding ideas and ideals of justice for the poor, and his criticism of those whom he sees as causing the country to veer away from constitutional principles, has led him to be described as ‘the last defender of the public funds’.
He belongs to the Forum for Democratic Change party and he discusses issues with a broader mind and puts national interests before party politics. An accountant by profession, Nandala was among the 14 MPs who voted against the lifting of the presidential term limits. He is a straight person and this has won him admiration and a kind of cult following from the public. He is the chairman of Public Accounts Committee in parliament and is outspoken and tough with those who appear before the committee. Listeners will learn from his rich knowledge of how the tax payers’ money is utilised.
But he hates it that everybody assumes all politicians are liars, yet some are not. He holds a Masters degree in Economic Policy and Planning, and a Bachelor of Science in statistics and economics. He served as a consultant/financial specialist Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development.
This was after rising in ranks from a training officer in 1988 to a senior revenue officer.
