Improve working conditions to develop the health sector

EDITOR — I agree with Dr. Sam Zaramba that in order to improve the health sector, there is need to pay medical workers promptly. The reason they frequently go on strike is because of poor pay, unfulfilled promises by the Government and lack of equipment in health centres.

The recent example of patients dying in Lira Hospital because the staff were on strike is a case in point.
The Government should earnestly work towards improving working conditions if the health sector is to develop.
