Three held over Asian trader's murder

KAMPALA - Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Mehmood Shahid, a car dealer, on Monday, the Police have said. The director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Okoth Ochola, said investigations “we are on the right track,†but refused to name the suspects.

Shahid was the director of Shazad Trading, a car-importing company located at Kyambogo on the Kampala-Jinja Road highway.
Two men, who posed as clients, are said to have killed him after luring him to a bank in Lugogo in Kampala on Monday morning.
His killers dumped the body in a swamp in Komamboga before disappearing with the vehicle, a maroon RAV4 registration number UAK 926 F in which they had expressed interest.
The police have since recovered the vehicle. It was parked at Jinja Road Police Station by yesterday morning.
