Minister intervenes in varsity strike

KAMPALA - Education minister Namirembe Bitamazire has intervened in the two-week strike at Kyambogo University. The minister confirmed yesterday that she would meet with the university council today to discuss plans for the reopening of the institution.

“We want to begin with the most touchy issues that have caused continued strikes for years. The validation of the academic staff and the salary scale, have always held this university behind,” Bitamazire said.
