THE NRM candidate for the Bukomansimbi by-elections, Iddi Kisiki Lubyayi, does not have the required academic papers, according to his opponent.
Launching his campaigns on Saturday, Michael Lubambula (independent) also attacked the economic monitoring state minister, Kagimu Kiwanuka, for saying that Lubyayi had the papers.
“The issue is not about picking the academic documents from a dust bin. We get them through struggles,â€
“Kagimu was here and told you that Lubyayi has got the papers, when did Lubyayi get the S6 certificate?†Lubambula asked.
Lubyayi has got a certificate of recognition for the mature entry scheme at Makerere University, he added.
“Certificates of recognition are not meant for academic presentations. You cannot compare a certificate of merit to a certificate of recognition, which is acquired after sitting for interviews in a day or two.â€
Lubyayi lost the Bukomansimbi seat for lack of academic papers.
