Mangat tunes his Subaru for Mbarara do

JAS Mangat, in a Subaru Impreza, will make a first appearance on local scene, setting up a clash with Ronald Ssebuguzi in the Mbarara Rally due this weekend. Mangat is coming off an impressive performance in the opening round of the Africa Rally Championship in Tanzania in which he finished second.

JAS Mangat, in a Subaru Impreza, will make a first appearance on local scene, setting up a clash with Ronald Ssebuguzi in the Mbarara Rally due this weekend. Mangat is coming off an impressive performance in the opening round of the Africa Rally Championship in Tanzania in which he finished second.
The Jomayi Property Consultants sponsored Ssebuguzi, who easily beat a feeble field to win the Southern Motor Club rally last month, now has a formidable challenger in Mangat.
Ssebuguzi and Mangat are likely to be flagged off ahead of the pack, in what is expected to be a challenging race.
The roads in Mbarara and Bushenyi are slippery following the current heavy rains.
Riyaz Kurji last week expressed interest in the rally and organisers are eagerly waiting for his registration.
The entry of Kurji will heighten competition in the second round of the National Rally Championship organised by Mbarara Motor Club.
Susan Muwonge, who skipped the Southern Motor Club rally, will be back in action on the challenging terrain of Western Uganda.
The cars will be flagged on Saturday at Lake View Hotel in Mbarara for the first leg and return to the hotel for a night stop. The second leg is on Sunday.
