‘AIDS patients overwhelming’

KASESE-The office of the National Community of Women Living With HIV/AIDS, has been overwhelmed by the number of patients seeking help, according to the coordinator. Faith Makombo last week said they needed support to look after the HIV-positive women and children who had been registered from the five sub-counties where they operate.


NGO gives out 180 bicycles

KISORO-The International HIV/AIDS Alliance has donated 180 bicycles worth sh26m to people living with AIDS in Kabale, Kisoro, Rukungiri and Kanungu districts. The programme field support officer, Bernard Kahigi, last week handed over 42 bicycles to Kisoro beneficiaries at Mubano hotel. Other bicycles were given to agents to facilitate their movement. Network spot agents comprise people living positively. They mobilise residents on counselling, testing, CD4 count and support orphans.
