THREE senior Mbale municipality officials could soon lose their jobs following recommendations by a commission of inquiry into the management of public affairs in the municipal council.

The municipal engineer, Edward Wodeya, land management supervisor James Wanasolo and assistant town clerk James Wonyema Masaba were implicated in various offences by the commission.

The Permanent Secretary in the local government ministry, Vincent Ssekono, directed the chief administrative officer to forward the names of the trio to the district service commission for dismissal.

According to the probe report, Wodeya and Wonyema showed no improvement in their work, having been earlier referred to the district service commission for disciplinary action by the Inspector General of Government

Wanasolo was accused of incompetence, abuse of office and involvement in illicit land transactions.

This comes six months after the probe team that was chaired by Fiona Egunyu concluded investigations and submitted its report.
