Mega Nankabirwa defied all odds to lead Uganda to two finals of the Kenya International Badminton Championships that ended at Premier Club in Nairobi on Sunday. Paired with Norah Nassimbwa in the women’s doubles, Nankabirwa battled before losing to top seeds, C. Botts and M. Edwards from South Africa, 21-4 21-8. Teaming up with Wilson Tukire, Nankabirwa also led Uganda to the final of the mixed doubled before succumbing to Greg Okuonghae and Grace Daniel of Nigeria 21-8 21-17.

Mini-cricket final
The regional finals of the MTN / Stanbic Bank sponsored primary schools’ mini-cricket will be played this weekend all over the country. The teams that came through at the district level last week will battle to qualify for the national finals due April 12th - 13th at Lugogo and Kyambogo. Meanwhile, the regional finals for the secondary schools will take place on August 16th -17th at King’s College Budo and Makerere University.

Rwampara gala
Nyakayojo SS has emerged champions in both football and netball for the eight times in the Rwampara Zone post primary games. Rushanje Girls took the girls’ soccer trophy, while Kinoni Girls are the girls’ volleyball champions. Zonal chairman Tweheyo James said that the four-day gala which ended on Sunday was very peaceful. He said that Rwampara Zone will send eight teams to compete in the district competitions due April 4 at Kakyeka Stadium.
