<b>Fake security man nabbed</b><br>NAKASONGOLA-The Police have arrested a Rwandan man believed to have conned millions of shillings from residents by posing as a security operative.

NAKASONGOLA-The Police have arrested a Rwandan man believed to have conned millions of shillings from residents by posing as a security operative. Deo Mwizerwa alias John Mugabo, was arrested in Migyera town last week, posing as an officer with the Violent Crime Crack Unit. Six people have recorded statements, admitting being conned by Mwizerwa. The district CID chief, Wilfred Kilara, said Mwizerwa would be charged with impersonation, forcefully obtaining money and theft.

Sub-county in wealth drive
MUBENDE-Myanzi sub-county has designed a three-year plan to improve the living standards of residents. The sub-county chairperson, Gerald Kayemba, said: “We have begun by helping change the attitude of residents towards work. When they look at work positively, they will strive to succeed.” He added that the residents would be supported to engage in commercial agriculture.

Woman held over murder
KAYUNGA-The Police are holding a 36-year-old woman who allegedly murdered her husband last Friday. The district CID chief, Grant Tabo, said Matida Nanyonjo, a resident of Bugonya village in Kayonza sub-county, stabbed Deo Njogoli, 57, killing him. She was arrested with her 16-year-old son. “The body had wounds on the stomach and the head. We are still carrying out investigations but the suspects will be charged with murder,” Tabo said.

3 detained over theft
LUWEERO-A secondary school student and two employees of Uganda telecom have been remanded in connection with theft of wire cables. Joshua Mukalazi, a student of Katikamu SDA, Godwin Opeti and Alex Ochala were remanded on Friday by Grade One Magistrate Japyem Okongo.
