RUKUNGIRI-The Grade One Magistrate, Samuel Twakire, has remanded a man and a woman suspected to have stabbed a student to death. Prosecution told court that Brian Muhumuza, 22, and his girlfriend, Sylivia Kemigisha, were found with a knife covered with blood on April 21. It is suspected that they used it to stab Alex Arinaitwe, 17, a student of Gables Vocational Training Institute. Arinaitwe was found dead in a trench on Republic Road on April 20. The duo were remanded to Prison until May 12 when the case comes up for mention.

NTUNGAMO-The resident district commissioner, Peter Kibondo Rwakifari, has said Kyamate forest reserve will soon be cut because it is a security risk. The locals recently asked the districts authorities to cut down the forest located near the town, saying it was a hideout for thieves. Rwakifari was speaking during a budget conference for the town council on Friday.
