Kasimbazi wins Mayombo golf tourney

JOSEPH Kasimbazi emerged the overall winner of the inaugural Brigadier Noble Mayombo Golf Open at Toro Golf Club on Saturday.

JOSEPH Kasimbazi emerged the overall winner of the inaugural Brigadier Noble Mayombo Golf Open at Toro Golf Club on Saturday.
The one-day tournament, which attracted 28 golfers from Mbarara, Kasese, Kampala and Tororo, saw Kasimbazi win with 41 points. Mayombo’s father, the Rev. Canon James Rwaboni, handed the winner’s trophy and a GTV decoder to Kasimbazi.
Mariam Kluge, with 33 points, was the winner in the women’s category.
Rwaboni hailed Toro Club for organising the event.
Toro Club boss Smart Bwango said the tournament will be an annual event in memory of Mayombo, who contributed enormously to the club. The event was sponsored by The New Vision, GTV, and Karugire and Co. Advocates.
