It was more than entertainment that met the eye at the Media Soccer Galla held at Lugogo KCC grounds on Sunday.

The men and women who trade in information showed some good ball skills. The newly-opened Suubi FM seized the opportunity to do marketing and showmanship, as obscure artistes led by Jingo Show took to the stage.

But what should have been a merry affair got marred by poor organisation. The public address system was very poor; there was no proper timekeeping and the ultimate two matches had to be decided by the simple throw of a coin.

It became dark before the semi-finals between UBC and Dunamis FM had been played, so a coin was thrown to have Dunamis qualify for the finals much to the chagrin of UBC.

The New Vision had already qualified for the finals and a coin was again thrown to determine the champions — where luck deservingly favoured The New Vision team. Deservingly, because The New Vision had seemed the best team of the day, even producing the two runners up for top scorer — scribes Joel Ogwang and Chris Kiwawulo — with five goals each. Twenty seven media houses participated in the Samona-sponsored event.
