Abdulkarim Ssengendo and Fred Turyakira report that on June 28, Angelina Kyomugisha, a resident of Rubaya sub-county in Mbarara district, allegedly chopped off Geoffrey Mugarura’s penis, saying she had caught him red-handed defiling her 10-year old last born.
The district crime chief, Jackson Tumwiine, said on Wednesday that they picked up Kyomugisha from her home in Rugyerera village.
He condemned the act, saying it was unlawful, adding that she would be charged with unlawful wounding of a person.
Meanwhile, the assault case has taken a new twist.
Tumwiine said a doctor’s report had indicated that the girl’s hymen was found intact and healthy, meaning Mugarura might not have defiled the girl.
But Tumwiine said they had interviewed several people and investigations were progressing well.
