There is an after work mixer that your boss declares you must attend and your workload makes it impossible to spare any time to doll yourself up at home before the ‘to-do’. Solution, a classic girl’s skirt teamed with a blouse in an eye-popping yellow!

Dress it down during the day and just before the party put on your slinky jewels to dress up the outfit. And in one gush, you are good to go.

The outfit:
A false wrap blouse with waistband detail, worn over a bias cut skirt.

Tip:
Open necklines are the best transition outfits because they offer a free canvas that can be dressed up for the evening and toned down during the day by going bare.

Bias-cut skirts skim the body shape without being clingy. This creates an instant dressed-up look.

However, ladies with bits and pieces that great undergarments cannot camouflage should avoid this type of skirt, as it will reveal that which you want to hide.

Fabric requirements:
Soft and fluid fabrics will do for this outfit, for example chiffon, georgette, linen, silk and satin.

½ -1 metre of yellow double width fabric is needed for the blouse.
1 ½-2 metres of double width fabric is needed for the skirt and the blouse sash. (The taller and fuller the figure, the more the fabric required).
