DAVID Obua has paid heed to an invitation by Scottish premier league side Hearts. Obua arrived in Edinburgh yesterday on a trip that could have him becoming the first Ugandan to play in Scotland’s top soccer league.

“We have arrived in Scotland and we will meet the manager for some talks,” Obua’s Hungarian agent Janos Hrutka told Edinburgh Evening News writer Barry Anderson.

“There is not much more we can say at the moment. There may be more to say after the discussions and the work permit is something we must think about,” added Hrutka.
Obua was due to tour the club’s Tynecastle and Riccarton facilities.

Obua crossed to Scotland after trials with English Premiership side West Ham.

The Chiefs player’s work permit worries should be lightened by the fact that he has played more than 75 per cent of competitive international matches for Uganda during the last two years.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Sekagya is really enjoying the best times of his life at Red Bulls Salzburg.

The Cranes’ captain struck the first and had five assists as Salzburg demolished Armenia side Banants 7-0 in their Uefa Cup first leg fixture on Thursday.

His Cranes teammate Noah Kasule though did not appear for Banants. Kasule stayed in Armenia due to visa issues.
