THE Police in Gulu have arrested three men over cattle theft.

Bosco Opiro, Patrick Ogwang and Dennis Okello, a taxi driver, were allegedly found with meat suspected to be of the cattle that was stolen from Minakulu sub-county in Oyam district.

The regional Police spokesperson, Johnson Kilama, paraded the suspects before journalists at Gulu Central Police Station on Wednesday.

He said the local community apprehended the three as they were offloading the meat from Okello’s taxi at Cereleno Market on the Gulu-Kampala highway on Wednesday at 5:00am.

Two bulls, suspected to have been stolen last year by Okello, were recovered from Kirombe village in Layibi Division.

Okello is said to have sold the bulls to George Odong.

Kilama said the three suspects would be charged with theft.
