SADOLIN Power will start the second round of the basketball league against Miracle Eagles today looking to stay in contention for a playoff slot.

Power, also steadily recovering from the tragedy that overshadowed the first round— the death of their star Wilbrod Oketcho, face their rivals at Lugogo.

The 2000 MVP passed away in May leaving, among others, his teammates and close friends greatly devastated.

Today’s game might spark more sad memories of his loss, which has since been commemorated with Power players donning black armbands in every match.

Power captain Isaac Afidra, who enjoyed a close relationship with deceased, said that life would never be the same again after the death of Oks’ — as he was endearingly known.

But Afidra and his teammates must keep their heads up if they are to qualify for the finals.

They ended the first round fourth on the table but such is the level of competition this year that only two points separate them from Miracle who are in eighth place.

Miracle began the season with three straight victories but subsequently fizzled out, losing five of the next six to plummet in the rankings.

No doubt they will be eager to immediately better their record.

The ladies’ match will see the fourth-placed Makerere Sparks engage Lady Bucks who are sixth overall in a division one encounter.

Elsewhere, division two leaders Ndejje University will take on Berkely.
