I have seen home owners aiming at the most beautiful and impressive design when choosing choose floor types. Whether you opt for a carpet, wood or natural flooring, choose neutral shades that will work with a variety of colour schemes. That way you will not be restricted on colour choices for other furnishings.

CARPET
For warmth and comfort, the carpet is unbeatable. It is not only affordable and practical, but the latest trends for deep piles, cosy textures and natural colours mean there is a variety to choose from.

WOOD
Stripped, sanded and sealed boards are ideal for a family room. Seal any gaps between the boards and disguise the colour difference by using darker shades like oak and mahogany wood, which will give a traditional cosy look.
lSolid hard wood flooring is expensive, going for between sh180,000 and sh210,000 a square metre, but it will last with minimal maintenance.
lMulti-layer wood flooring costs slightly less than hard wood. It will also last long, but cannot be re-sanded as many times as the hard wood floor.
lLaminated flooring comprises a layer of plastic tiles patterned to look like a variety of wood types.

NATURAL FLOOR COVERINGS
This type of flooring may not be as comfortable under the foot, but introducing neutral tones and texture into a scheme it is hard to beat. All natural floorings need to be stain-treated on installation and cleaned with recommended detergents.
