SURVEYORS have been warned against operating without being registered.
The chairman of the Land Surveyors Board, John Musungu, said that out of the 195 surveyors who had graduated from Makerere University since 1994, only 55 surveyors were registered.
He was speaking at the 16th inauguration ceremony of the Surveyor’s Registration Board at Hotel Africana recently.
The Surveyors’ Registration Board registers all surveyors in the country who graduate from Makerere University, Kyambogo University and Entebbe Survey training school.
The function was attended by surveyors from Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Kampala City Council and Government ministries.
Lands state minister Dr. Kasirivu Atwooki said unqualified people were tarnishing the image of surveyors.
Kasirivu urged surveyors to uphold the ethics of the profession.
He also warned Government surveyors against neglecting their duties to attend to other private work.
