Handball action due to start
- The 2009 national handball league is scheduled to start with defending champions UPDF taking on Prisons on October 4.
The match will be one of the six matches on the same day. Uganda Amateur Handball Federation (UAHF) secretary Fred Mugerwa said the women’s event will also roll off.

Naluwerere get sh6.5 aid
- A prominent businessman Sadi Omar has donated sh6.5m to Naluwerere football club. The club chairman Hassan Musobya explained yesterday that the money will be used in the sides’s preparation for this year’s division one league. Musobya said that Omar also promised to double the offer if the team qualifies for the super mini league later this year.
