UBC ‘Ekimeeza’ has specific guidelines for the participants

I have received some complaints from some notable members of the public that some of the comments about them did not please them. I would like to state the following: Our Ekimeeza programme has specific guidelines that must be adhered to by the listeners that participate.
The deliberators must direct their comments and questions in line with the topic of the day.
The topic is usually introduced and discussed by a panel of discussants with experience and knowledge in the respective field.
Thereafter the listener can participate.
The questions or comments of the participants must be in Luganda. The participant must introduce themselves and also register to ensure that they have an opportunity to participate. There should be a shift from derogatory comments passed on individuals’ personalities and characters.
The moderator of the programme has the final say and has the right to direct the show. All members of the public without discrimination are allowed to participate. Issues that can be discussed range from social, religious, cultural, political and economic ones. There are guidelines to help limit liabilities to UBC. The views expressed by participants therein are not necessarily those of Star FM and UBC.
These guidelines ensure that UBC as a national public broadcaster remains on course to relevantly inform, educate and entertain our publics. We welcome all to these live discussions and together we can make them relevant and enjoyable to the public.
