MTN has signed a deal with the British Council to sponsor the UK agency’s Kampala management fora.

The fora provide a platform for professionals to interact, share ideas and experiences for business and career development.

The one-year partnership deal signed last week makes MTN the major sponsor of the quarterly fora conducted by the British Council.

“Uganda has one of the best education systems in the region, but young professionals lack practical skills,” Noel Meier, the MTN chief executive officer, said after penning the deal.

“The forum is meant to stimulate energy and creativity in young professionals since they will be addressing real community needs,” he added.

“We believe that this partnership will cement this relationship further and also give us more opportunities for open interactions with our customers,” Meier explained.

“These fora provide practical skills which many Ugandan graduates lack,” Richard Weyers, the British Council chief, said.
