- The Uganda Rowing and Canoeing Federation (URCF) has embarked on a campaign to field a team at the London 2012 Olympics, according to the federation chief Nicholas Onegi P'Minga. As a first step, P'Minga has organised a Level 1 coaching course for canoeing coaches and administrators to take place at Miami Beach, Luzira in the outskirts of Kampala next month. Each club is to send two male coaches and a lady administrator.

Soroti Municipality has selected a team of 20 football players that will represent the municipality in the Regional Mayors' Cup due in Tororo starting today.
The selection came after the Soroti Mayor's Cup final in which Eastern Division beat Northern.
