REIGNING men’s national basketball champions the Mogas Falcons meet Nkumba Marines in the first of their final four league matches with a simple task— win at least two of them and qualify for the playoffs.

Falcons have amassed 24 points from 14 matches and need six points to be sure of getting into the post season and are fancied to complete one third of that task against the Marines today.

The Entebbe side has shown a fancy display lately and Sadolin Power needed overtime to overcome them 111-106 this week.

Still, they are without a win in their last four games and should find Falcons a tough proposition.

The defending champions suffered a major setback this week by failing to travel to Ethiopia for the Zone five club championships but they could find the intense training they have undertaken of great value today.

If Falcons win only two of their four matches, they will go into the playoffs in fourth place meaning they will face the eventual regular season champions, who this time look like being top-of-the-league Kyambogo Warriors, in the semi-finals of the contest.

If they qualify as second they will face third or the other way round.

Warriors are up against against Gulu Hawks while KIU face the already relegated KCC Lions.
