THE Kayunga LC5 chief, Thomas Mulondo, has blamed domestic violence in the district on poverty.

“Many husbands have resorted to beating their wives when they demand for necessities at home because they have no money.”

Mulondo advised married women to engage in income-generating projects to supplement their husbands’ incomes.

Mulondo, who was talking to The New Vision at his offices on Sunday, also accused fisheries officers and the Police of conniving with fishermen to catch immature fish.

“This is illegal,” he asserted and said culprits would be punished if arrested.
